Segments: different outcomes for different leads
A segment is a variant of your outcome. Each lead is matched to exactly one segment based on their form answers, and each segment has its own report — its own blocks, its own prompt settings, its own email. A beginner and an expert can walk the same funnel and land on different reports.
Segments live in the rail on the left of the Outcome step. Selecting a segment switches the whole builder — canvas, blocks list, and drawers — to that segment's report.
The Default segment
The Default segment is pinned at the top. Once you add other segments it's labeled Fallback: it catches every lead who matches no other segment, so nobody falls through.
Add a segment
- Click Add Segment at the bottom of the rail.
- Give it a name and a color.
- Under Outcome, choose Start blank or Copy from another segment to reuse its blocks and settings as a base.
- Click Create Segment, then click Edit on the new segment and set its Filter — the answer conditions a lead must match ("If they match these conditions").
Order is priority
Leads are checked against your segments top to bottom and land in the first one whose filter matches. Drag segments by the grip handle to reorder — put the most specific rules on top, and let the Default catch the rest.
Each segment stands alone
With a segment selected, three buttons appear under it:
- Edit — name, color, and filter rules.
- Email — the email and automations that fire when a lead enters this segment.
- AI — the AI Settings drawer (report prompt and grounding).
Good to know
- Some funnels match segments with AI instead of filters — each segment gets an AI Hint describing who belongs in it, and ordering doesn't apply.
- Fewer, better segments beat many thin ones. Start with two or three that genuinely change the advice.
