Form step types

When you add a step on the Form tab, the picker offers three groups: form inputs, content steps, and the Sign Up Step. Here's what each type does.

Form inputs

  • Text Input — a short text field for one-line answers.
  • Long Text — a multi-line field for open answers and stories.
  • Choice — selectable option buttons with icons. Allow one or multiple selections, in one or two columns.
  • Image Choice — the same, but each option is an image card.
  • Rating — a star or icon rating, out of 5 to 10.
  • Scale — a numbered scale (5 to 10) with your own left, middle, and right labels.
  • Date — a date picker. You can restrict answers to past or future dates.
  • Switch — a toggle with your own true/false labels, like Yes/No.
  • Checkbox — a single labeled checkbox, good for confirmations.
  • URL Input — a text field that validates the answer is a URL.
  • Phone Input — a validated phone number field.
  • Upload — a file dropzone. Accept image, video, audio, PDF, or any file, single or multiple.

The Sign Up Step

Collects name and email inside the form flow. Every AI funnel needs one somewhere — the report is generated per lead, so it can't stay anonymous. See the sign up step article.

Content steps

Steps with no input at all, for context between questions:

  • Explainer Text — a title, description, and optional image.
  • Video Step — an embedded video with a continue button.

Good to know

  • Tap-to-answer steps (Choice, Rating, Scale) are the fastest for leads and the cleanest for the AI — reach for them first.
  • In quiz funnels the picker changes: questions get answer keys instead. See the quiz form blocks article.
